INVESTIGATION OF SEAM EFFICIENCY OF DIFFERENT SEAM TYPES IN WOOLEN GARMENTS

Seams are very important for the quality of woolen garments. garment must be durable and smooth. Seam performance is an factor determining durability a garment. The tensile characteristics seamed fabric changes with change bias angle, stitch seam types. In this study, three wool fabrics different properties were chosen. Fabrics have been cut in angles 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° 90° then sewn six types (SSa-1/301, LSc-1/301, LSq-2/301, LSb-1/301, SSc-1/301, LSc-2/301). these samples, effects at stitching on strength efficiency investigated. Results indicated that, possessed statistically values. LSc-2 type give highest values seams prepared 30° lowest Generally, SSa superimposed preferred As can seen from if LSc lapped used instead type, would more durable.
